Our Annual Dinner and Meeting on May 8th was attended by approximately 90 members! Board member Helen Ann Rosenfeld organized the Dani McCullough Adopt-A-House presentations - Susan Allen, Kathleen Sims and Carolyn McCarthy each shared the wonderfully rich histories of their well-researched Chatham Homes.
Kathleen and Mark Sims of 52 North Hillside Avenue in Chatham Borough were recently awarded the second Historical Home Plaque by the Chatham Historical Society. It was presented by Co-Chairmen of the Society’s Plaque Program, Noelle Joralemon and Isobel Mitchell.
The first Chatham Historical Society Historical Home Plaque under the Dani McCulloch Adopt-A-House program was presented to Daniel and Carolyn McCarthy of 91 Fairmount Avenue in May of 2011.
The Chatham Historical Society received a grant administered by the Morris County Heritage Commission for the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The grant was funded by the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State, allowing us to purchase a cabinet that is "environmentally safe," secure, and provides proper archival storage for our files and photos.
